When your guests visit you at Greenage ......

I am not getting personal here and don't misinterpret my intentions that i am trying to get into an argument here.

I am all for keeping any amenity provided it does not snatch someone's normal life. With all due respects, I don't agree with the logic that this particular case has to go by majority opinion. Fresh air is everyone's fundamental right :) :) :) .... Majority decision cannot snatch it away from minority; Voting / going by majority is only applicable when it doesn't curtail someone's basic needs.

We paid so much of money to get these apartments. Imagine the embarrassment when someone comes to your house and it is stinking. We had to actually go through this!!. Not at all a good thing when word spreads, it is awesome from outside but stinks from inside.

Moreover, it cannot be compared with lifts. Without lifts, things become really really difficult. Nothing compared to the in-convenience of keeping few bins outside for half an hour outside everyday. Not an apple to apple comparison.

If it is working all over the world as someone mentioned, then why it is not working over here? .. I wouldn't mind joining any committee or group formed to help identify issues and fix loopholes one by one.

Let me add few potential reasons which i feel.

  1. Owners rarely get into chute rooms. They ask their maids to throw the garbage. Maids are/were least bothered and they used to throw it in ducts.
  2. Much of the garbage would just land on the ramps in every floor (more on lower floors) and stay there for days (How many of you have seen what is inside the ducts?). Things start rotting and stink increases. Some how during rain it just goes very high.
  3. Garbage has to be removed frequently by the BBMP ??...They are not regular. During rain it is even more irregular
  4. Improper ventilation i guess at every level. Smell has to find some way out which it is not getting it.

To be completely honest, smell has gone down from before. But it is not completely out. Right now, we can just debate endlessly if we want, but the solution is not in sight at least till some time. Till then we can just think of a road map to fix this issue (if at all we collectively really care).

Poetry at its best - inspired by Greenage residents and builder alike....

MAIL MANIA

Open your mail box my dear Greenage
And find it filled with verbal garbage,

This week
House Joy came to clean our cars
But sullied the the image of some.....no holds barred,
It began with a form to be filled ...to get a car Cleaner
And turned into a battle....that could not fall any lower !!
Some are autocrats, others are disrespectful and bold
Still others are scheming and some are just too old,
Ring me up,meet me today, the GOA is useless
Call a meeting post haste to sort out this mess,
Call for quotes before you suggest any name
Lest you be accused of playing a political game!
'Joy ' flew out of the windowsill..
And left the pack fighting over the 'molehill'.

Last week
Open the chutes, close the door,Greenage looks so shabby
We want a perfumed entrance,we want a clean lobby,
9 am is too early
The green waste cans are too smelly,
What will the vegetarians do
If they happen to spot a bone or two?
Will you be happy if I dump garbage at your front door
Do you have any logic or idea about a clean floor??

Some weeks ago
Appoint a new President....dismiss the old
Some people  just do not fitting into a preset mould
Some are leaders some are just a boss
Pick them up and out of the post toss!
We even have some lawyers who pass judgement
On every aspect........from a long distance!
Any wonder only NINE innocents opted to be hung
Because the remaining were happy to watch and mud sling!

Other societies have a welcome kit for new residents, with some do's and dont's
They have a list of facilities, their payment list and duties for servants,
They have  planted greens and progressed by leaps,
They have even created their own compost heaps,
They have musical get togethers and  a doggie corner
They even have free training for sports by one or another.

In Greenage ...10% remain active on mail
The remaining 90% watch and later delete the trail,
And as the truncated GOA fumes and frets amidst  it's file and rank
SS guys laugh, watch the fun and make their way to the bank.

Why has all the 'Fun' deserted our 'Club'
Why have we turned into a disgruntled hub?
Would you like our Greenage to be misery replete
Think about it.....before you attack me or press delete!!

Still ongoing - last two days there has been a lot of noise even during the night.

I could not figure out where the noise was coming from...sounded like cement mixer at full speed or broken AC labouring to cool a room.

Subject: Escalation - Construction work in Night hours - Greenage Apartments

Dear Sir,

I am residing at Salarpuria Greenage Apartments at Hosur Road in Birch Block.

On 4th August night, construction work was carried out all through the night in the upcoming block, adjacent to Birch.
There were pile up of Concrete trucks operating full throttle, creating huge noise.
Besides, Iron objects were also being dropped all through the night.

Inspite of closing all Glass Windows, it was so noisy all thorough the night till early morning 6:00 am, that we could not catch a wink of sleep.

We are spending money through nose, for a comfortable stay.  However, your construction team & Project manager seemingly has no courtesy and are not bothered about the occupant's issues.
Earlier, they were dropping the debris from higher floors through steel cans continuously for weeks together.

What is the point, if we are to have sleepless nights day after day because of the callous attitude of your project managers & people responsible for construction.

Will you please instruct your team members to stop the construction work, atleast after 9:30 pm, so that your customers can sleep peacefully.

Regards

R. Manikandan
