Thoughts on myGate

myGate is a new mobile app that has been introduced to the community. I think one of the founders/developers is a resident/tenant as well - he provides support on email and approves user registration requests.

It seems to be a management app for large communities such as Greenage and offers multiple functions such as visitor management, service management (maids, drivers, laundry...etc.). This is not meant to be a full-blown app review - I encourage my readers to download the app and try it out for themselves.

I only wanted to opine that, like most things in software, this app too follows the 80-20 rule. It works well 80% of the time and there will always be 20% of time, instances when it will not work as expected. Most of my visitors and courier personnel were checked in accurately but the check-outs were random. Some of my visitors and courier personnel were not stopped at the gate - this is not a fault of the app per' se.

I will continue to use the app to send invite requests to my visitors - its pretty cool. Its also cool to know when my visitors and courier folks have checked in - the app sends an audible alert.

My best wishes and congratulations to the development/founder team of the app.
